Women's soccer opens Atlantic Sun slate under the lights on Friday
Sept. 22, 2005
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- - The Jacksonville University women's soccer team will achieve something they have never done before in their program history at home on Friday. Play a game at night under the lights.
The Dolphins will open the Atlantic Sun conference schedule against East Tennessee State at 7 p.m. under the new lighting system at the Ashley Sports Complex.
"It is going to be exciting to play under the lights," said head coach Chris Kouns. "The lights will draw a bigger part of the JU community to come out and hopefully we can put on a good showing."
The new lighting system was installed shortly before classes started and became fully operational earlier this week.
The Dolphins come into the conference schedule after a thrilling, 1-0, overtime win over Georgia Southern on Tuesday. Freshman Keri Zwikker scored the golden goal with less than five minutes remaining by assist from junior goalie Michelle Kmiotek.
East Tennessee State (3-4-1) comes into Fridays game after falling to George Mason, 3-1, on Monday. Junior Rachel Murray scored the lone goal for the Buccaneers.
