JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- - Freshman defender Kirby Hutton was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Tournament team, it was announced by the conference office.

"I'm very excited to see that Kirby's efforts were appreciated by the other coaches at the tournament," said JU head coach Chris Kouns. "Yet again, another one of our young players stepped up and did what it takes for our team to win"

Hutton helped the Dolphins to their second consecutive A-Sun conference semifinals berth last weekend in Boiling Springs, N.C. The Dolphins (8-10-3) defeated East Tennessee State, 2-1, before falling to Florida Atlantic, 2-0, in the semifinals. She earned the honor after shutting down Florida Atlantic's Susanna Lehtinen, who was voted conference player of the year.

"Kirby did a tremendous job for us all weekend," Kouns said. "It was especially nice to see her completely shut down Susanna Lehtinen. She really showed the character for our iron women soccer team."

Hutton became the fourth Dolphin to earn A-Sun honors this season. Senior Amber Otto and freshman Michelle Lavine were named second-team all-conference, while Lavine also earned a spot on all-freshman team. Freshman Keri Zwikker earned a sleuth of awards including Atlantic Sun "Freshman of the Year," first team all-conference, all-freshman and A-Sun "Offensive Player of the Week" honors.

"It's nice to see our three freshmen (Michelle, Keri and Kirby) get honored for all of their hard work," said Kouns. "It is a big step in the right direction for our program."
