JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior Michelle Kmiotek tallied her fourth shutout of the season, while sophomore Angela Hulse and senior Jenny Borschel each added a goal to help the Jacksonville University women's soccer team down Maryland-Baltimore County, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon in the final day of the Third-Annual Kick Out Cancer Tournament at the Ashley Sports Complex.

"I'm very pleased to get another win at home," said JU head coach Chris Kouns. "So far, we are 5-0 at home and that is a positive. Hopefully, we can continue this trend in conference play starting on Friday."

At the 20-minute mark of the first half, Hulse scored her third goal of the season on a breakaway from an assist by Borschel to give the Dolphins (5-3) a 1-0 advantage.

Borschel put the game away for the Dolphins with less than six minutes left in the second half by scoring on a header after a free kick by junior Emilie Howland.

The Retrievers (3-4-1) managed 10 shots in the game, including seven in the second half, but Kmiotek recorded six saves in goal to help secure the victory.

"I'm disappointed that we didn't put UMBC away in the second half," Kouns said. "In the first half, we worked the ball well and had them chasing a bit, but we showed our youth in the second half by letting them hang around. Hopefully, this is something we can work on this week."

On Friday, the Dolphins open the 2006 Atlantic Sun Conference schedule at home against cross-town rival North Florida at 7 p.m. Both teams will also look to gain some early points in the standings for their school in the Second-Annual SunTrust River City Rumble battle.
