Nov. 1, 2006
KENNESAW, Ga. - Sophomore forward Keri Zwikker was named first team all-Atlantic Sun Conference, while sophomore defender Katie Orr was named second team all-conference, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon by the league office.
"I am very pleased that Keri and Kate were both honored with the selection to the all-conference team this year," said JU head coach Chris Kouns. "Both players work very hard on the field and in the classroom. They are great role models for the type of student-athlete we want in the program and who will help us achieve our full potential as a team."
Zwikker earns her second consecutive first team honor after leading the team with eight goals and 19 points. She scored four goals, two assists and nine points to help the Dolphins to four consecutive wins from Oct. 5-12, while also earning SoccerFLA.com "Player of the Week" honors. Last season, she was named A-Sun "Freshman of the Year" by tallying 14 goals, 10 assists and 38 points in 21 matches.
Orr moved to the backline this season after serving as a midfielder in 2005. She made an immediate impact by helping secure eight shutout wins. Orr was also named A-Sun Defensive "Player of the Week" on Sept. 18 after her excellent play at the third annual Kick Out Cancer Soccer Tournament.
