JU women take 6th at SODEXHO Hatter Invitational

DELAND, Fla. - The JU women's cross country team took home a 6th-place finish out of 17 teams in Friday's SODEXHO Hatter Invitational.

"The results were positive given it was their fourth hard effort in seven days," said JU head coach Ron Grigg. "We expect to see our best results of the season as we taper for the conference championship."

Freshman Anastasia Fokina finished 16th with a time of 19:39. Junior Alison Ritter came in 21st with a time of 19:52. Sophomore Alyssa Deal, still recovering from an injury, finished 32nd with a time of 20:24. Sophomore Tiffanie Saxton and senior Danielle Coyle finished 47th and 52nd, respectively out of 110 competitors.

On the men's side, Charlie Allen was the first Dolphins across the line, finishing 74th with a time of 33:11 in the 8K.

Both teams be in action again on Oct. 27th at the Atlantic Sun Championships in Nashville, Tenn.
