Women's Tennis defeats Gardner-Webb, 7-0

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU women's tennis team won 6-of-6 singles matches and captured the doubles point to remain undefeated after earning its eighth win of the season defeating Gardner-Webb, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the Alexander Brest Tennis Complex.
JU (8-0) freshman Emese Sulyos (Szolnok, Hungary) won at No. 1 singles in two sets defeating Melissa Dejong, 6-0, 6-0. Sulyos captured her 12th win of the season while remaining undefeated this season. Sophomore Veronika Subertova (Bratislava, Slovakia) who took the No. 2 singles match defeated Loriclle Ferlita, 6-0, 6-0, while improving to 7-1 in regular season play. Sophomore Martina Strussova (Bratislava, Slovakia) earned her third win of the season defeating Molly Hoeffner, 3-6, 6-4, 10-7. Also taking singles matches were senior Kim Packer (Adelaide, S. Australia) over Sera Zirnheld at No. 4 (6-3, 6-1) and junior Nisrine Hajbane (Casablance, Morocco) over Kristina Sigmon at No. 5 (6-1, 6-1). Senior Kristina Puck (Hamburg, Germany) defeated Elena Iltcheua at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-2, to remain undefeated in regular-season play.
Strussova and Hajbane combined for the second time to take No. 1 doubles defeating DeJong and Zirnheld, 8-5. Packer and Subertova also came together for the second time capturing No. 2 doubles over Hoeffner and Ferlita, 8-0, while Sulyos and Puck defeated Yerkes and Iltcheua at No. 3 doubles, 8-0
