Women's Tennis Clinches Win Against Hampton University, 4-3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU women's tennis team won 4-of-6 singles matches, including the tie breaking No. 6 singles match, to capture its 10th win of the season defeating Hampton University, 4-3, Friday afternoon at the Alexander Brest Tennis Complex.

JU (10-0) senior Kristina Puck (Hamburg, Germany) defeated Jana Korycankova at No. 6 singles, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, in the deciding match for the Dolphins. Puck remains undefeated in regular-season play. Freshman Emese Sulyos (Szolnok, Hungary ) won at No. 1 singles defeating Krystina Pestova, after Pestova retired from play. Sophomore Veronika Subertova (Bratislava, Slovakia) won at No. 2 singles over A;ena Mitackova, 7-5, 6-4. Junior Nisrine Hajbane (Casablanca, Morocco) captured No. 5 singles defeating Viviane Costa, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Sulyos and Subertova combined to defeat Pestova and Besedova at No. 1 doubles, 8-4.

JU will play Temple University on Sunday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the Alexander Brest Tennis Complex.
