Women's Tennis Defeats North Florida, 6-1

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Freshman Emese Sulyos (Szolnok, Hungary) remained undefeated at No. 1 singles on the season at 18-0 with a straight-set victory over Camila Sagae as the JU women's tennis team defeated cross-town rival North Florida, 6-1, Wednesday at the UNF Tennis Complex.
The Dolphins opened the match by sweeping the doubles point, then took 5-for-6 singles matches. Sophomore Veronika Subertova (Bratislava, Slovakia) won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2, Martina Strussova (Bratislava, Slovakia) won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, junior Nisrine Hajbane (Casablanca, Morocco) won 7-6, 6-4 at No. 5 singles and senior Kristina Puck (Hamburg, Germany) won 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
Sulyos and Subertova combined for their ninth No. 1 doubles win of the season after defeating Liliana Hung and Julie Stoppelli, 8-3. Packer and Hajbane claimed victory at No. 2 doubles and Strussova and Puck took No. 3 doubles.
The Dolphins return to action when they travel to Stetson on Saturday, April 3 for their final conference match of the season. JU is currently atop the conference standings with wins over UCF, Mercer and Gardner-Webb.
