Women's Tennis Downs Belmont, 4-1, to Reach A-Sun Semifinals

MACON, Ga. - JU freshman Emese Sulyos (Szolnok, Hungary) defeated Laura DeHaan at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, to improve to 20-0, as the top-seeded Dolphins (15-2) defeated eighth-seeded Belmont,4-1, to advance to the Atlantic Sun Championship semifinals to face fourth-seeded Troy State Friday at noon.

Sophomore Veronika Subertova (Bratislava, Slovakia) and Sulyos combined to defeat Conyer and Oberoi, 8-1, in No. 1 doubles, while sophomore Martina Strussova (Bratislava, Slovakia) and senior Kristina Puck (Hamburg, Germany) defeated Moss and Garcia, 8-4, in No. 3 doubles to capture the doubles point for JU.

Subertova won No. 2 singles over Shivani Oberoi, 6-0, 6-0, and junior Nisrine Hajbane (Casablanca, Morrocco) defeated Alba Garcia, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 4 singles securing the match for the Dolphins.

JU and Belmont did not play No. 2 doubles or No. 5 and No. 6 singles because the outcome of the matches would not affect the overall match winner.
