Women's Tennis Drops to UCF, 5-2

ORLANDO, Fla. - Freshman Dana Antonioli (Bienne, Switzerland) won her third straight singles match, but it was not enough as the Dolphins dropped a 5-2 decision to UCF Tuesday afternoon at the UCF Tennis Complex.
JU (2-3, 0-2 A-Sun) lost the doubles point, yet the team of senior Nisrine Hajbane (Casablanca, Morocco) and freshman Lena Willi (Freiburg, Germany) continued their winning ways with their third straight win at the second spot, taking a 8-4 win over UCF's Pamela Fernandez and Becky Gordon. The Golden Knights won at No. 1 as Kristina Lohmos and Kyla McNicol downed sophomore Emese Sulyos (Szolnok, Hungary) and freshman Dana Antonioli (Bienne, Switzerland), 8-2, and at No. 3 where Megan Rosario-Hunter and Ola Luczak took a 8-1 decision over freshman Daphne Bourot (Lyon, France) and junior Megan Williams (New Westminster, B.C.).
UCF (3-6, 2-0 A-Sun) went up 3-0, winning at No. 6 as Anna Yakimchenkova beat Williams, 6-1, 6-3, and Luczak defeated Daphne Bourot, 6-0, 7-5, at the third singles position. JU bounced back with wins from Hajbane at No. 4 over Jennifer Carati, 6-3, 6-4, and Antonioli at the fifth spot over McNicol, 6-3, 6-3. The Golden Knights clinched the victory at No. 2, with Luczak defeating Willi, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4. Lohmos then dropped Sulyos, 7-5, 6-2, at the No. 1 position to close out the match.
JU heads to Tallahassee to take on Florida A&M Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
