Emese Sulyos and Lena Willi come out on top at 2006 David P. Hastings Memorial Open

Emese Sulyos, Lena Willi, and Tatiana Soldatova took the top three spots in Women's A Singles bracket, while Jordi Ballester advanced to the Men's A finals before an injury halted his run to the tile at the 2006 David P. Hastings Memorial Open on Sunday
With a promising start to the fall season for both teams, Sulyos defated teammate Tatiana Soldatova, 8-4, before being declared co-champion with Willi.
Willi defeated UNF's Natalia Sanchez 6-1, 6-3 to earn her share of the title, while also continuing her winning streak with 13 straight matches. Sulyos extends her winning streak to 15 straight matches.
Soldatova also faced UNF's Sanchez for a third place finish, defeating her 6-3, 6-2 to give the Dolphins a 1-2-3 finish in Women's A Singles.
Willi and Sulyos took on Polakova and Kendrick of Bethune-Cookman in the semis of doubles play, winning 8-4, before defeating Ruislova and Powell, also of Bethune-Cookman, 8-5 to take home the doubles title.
In men's play, Ballester continued to lead the Dolphins, defeating Florida A&M's Clifford Malivert, 6-0, 6-4 to advance to the finals. He was leading UNF's Matias Sigal 6-3, 4-2 before having to retire to due to an injury.
The Dolphins return to action at the ITA Regionals in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Thursday, Oct. 19.
