Tatiana Soldatova takes title at the Seminole Classic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Tatiana Soldatova won her draw at the Seminole Fall Classic over the weekend while Emese Sulyos took home third place in her draw as the JU women's tennis team had another strong showing in the fall season.
Soldatova knocked off the No. 1 seed in her draw, 6-2, 6-0, in the first round and followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win in the semifinals capped the tournament off with by rallying from a set down to defeat Florida State's Tapiwa Marobela, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the championship match.
"Tatiana and Emese played really well for us this weekend," said JU head coach Jarod Camerota. "This was a good tournament for us to get some experience against some very good competition and gives us some momentum to build on as we prepare for the spring."
In taking third place, Sulyos knocked off UNF's Sanchez in the first round, 7-6, 0-6, 6-1 before falling to FSU's Ania Rynarzewska in the semifinals, 6-4, 7-6. Suylos rebounded with an impressive 7-6, 6-2 win in the third place match.
Sulyos and Soldatova teamed up for the doubles competition, dropping the championship match to Florida State's Marobela and Suzanna Mansour, 8-6.
The Dolphins wrap up their fall schedule on Nov. 10-12 at the UNF Invitational.
