Women's Tennis Match against North Florida suspended due to rain

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - What began as a beautiful day, became a rainy and wet, causing the JU Women's tennis team to postpone their matches against crosstown rival North Florida, Thursday. The matches are set to restart Friday, Feb. 2, at 4:30 p.m. at North Florida.

According to Atlantic Sun Conference ruling, the matches must be resumed within the next 48 hours, or no current scores will count, and the match will be replayed in its entirety.

UNF leads JU 2-1, with three more singles matches, and doubles play still left. The Dolphins tallied their single win with Emese Sulyos at No. 1, defeating Vannessa Sanchez, 6-0, 6-0. The Ospery's took the No. 4 spot with Florencia Torres defeating Iva Jaresova (6-1,6-1), and the No. 5 spot with Ina Durcakova defeating Fernanda Carrero (6-1, 6-2). JU holds the lead in No. 2 and No. 3 play, while UNF looks to take the No. 6 spot.

Upon the completeion of their match against North Florida, the Dolphins travel to Georgia Southern Saturday, Feb. 3, to face to the Eagles.
