Women's Tennis defeats Hampton, 4-3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Dolphins (7-3, 3-1 A-Sun) battled Hampton University and the weather Sunday afternoon, earning the doubles point to clinch the win, 4-3.

Emese Sulyos and Lena Willi lead the dolphins winning no. 1 doubles, 8-6, and no. 1 and 2 singles respectively. Sulyos defeated Besedova, 6-0, 6-0, and Willi defeated Jiskrova, 6-1, 6-3. Tatiana Soldatova defeated Moran, 6-0, 6-1, in no. 3 singles to give JU the chance to battle for the win.

"Windy conditions neutralize talent and reveal character and toughness," said head coach Jarod Camerota. "We relaxed after leading big during doubles, and were fortunate to get the doubles point."

The dolphins return to the court on Monday, March 12, at home facing Eastern Kentucky at 11:00 a.m.
