Women's Tennis defeats Northern Iowa, 5-2

VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Dolphins (10-3, 4-1 A-Sun) extended their winning streak to six matches as they defeated Northern Iowa Tuesday afternoon. Emese Sulyos and Lena Willi teamed up for No. 1 doubles again defeating Paritala and Pukse, 8-3, while also winning their respective singles matches.

Sulyos defeated Paritala, 6-2, 6-0, in the No.1 spot, while Willi downed Pukse, 6-1, 6-0, in the No. 2 spot. Iva Jaresova added another point to the Dolphins total defeating Moraes, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 4 singles. She went on to team up with Tatiana Soldatova in No. 2 doubles, defeating Kanade and Hannes 9-8 (3), while clenching the tie breaker to win the doubles point. Fernanda Carrero added the final point for JU, defeating Hannes, 6-2, 7-5 in No. 5 singles.

"We clinched the match fast in singles after fighting hard in doubles," said head coach Jarod Camerota. "Hopefully we keep playing smarter and learning every time we step on the court."

The Dolphins look to continue their winning streak at home as they face Wyoming Friday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m.
