Women's tennis defeated Lafayette 5-1

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Dolphins (12-3, 4-1 A-Sun) kept their winning streak alive on Senior Day with a dominating win over Lafayette at the Keith Watson Family Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Emese Sulyos was perfect in her last home match defeating Danielle Bailey 6-0, 6-0. Lena Willi downed Sarah Sykes 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Tatiana Soldatova also played strong winning her match against Ansley Scudder 6-0, 6-1at No. 3 singles. Fernanda Carrero and Cristina Paiva-Flor played well too defeating Nancy Parker 6-0, 6-0 and Jacqui Bonder 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 and No. 5 singles respectively.

"Emese Sulyos will go down in the history books as one of the best tennis players ever at JU," said head coach Jarod Camerota in regards to the senior's last home match. "We did what we had to do today, now we need to rest and get ready for Gardner Webb on Tuesday."

After an eight game home stand, the Jacksonville women's tennis team will go on the road to face Gardner Webb on Tuesday March 20th at 1 p.m.
