Women's tennis defeated ETSU 4-3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Dolphins (14-3, 6-1 A-Sun) were able to edge out East Tennessee State in a close conference match on Wednesday afternoon, pushing their winning streak up to eleven matches in a row.

After falling at No. 1 doubles the Dolphins were able to secure the doubles point with strong play at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. At No. 2 doubles Tatiana Soldatova and Iva Jaresova defeated Yevgeniya Stupak and Elena Volobueva 8-4 and At No. 3 doubles Fernanda Carrero and Cristina Paira-Flor defeated Tara Byrne and Vita Moskaliova 8-5.

The Dolphins were also able to pick up wins at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles. At No. 1 singles Emese Sulyos defeated Yevgeniya Stupak (ETSU) 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 and At No. 2 singles Lena Willi prevailed against Masha Ilina 6-4, 6-7 (1), 6-3. Tatiana Soldatova sealed the deal with a win at No. 3 singles defeating Olya Batsula 6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-3.

"This was a pretty good win for our program," said head coach Jarod Camerota. "Did not realized that we have won eleven in a row, but we need to continue to look at it one match at a time. We had a really good effort and everyone contributed today."

The Jacksonville women's tennis team will try to keep the winning streak alive on Friday, March 30th at Belmont at 6 p.m.
