RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The JU women's golf team opened its spring season on Monday amid difficult conditions and finished in fifth place after 18 holes at the Braveheart Invitational.

Freshman Danielle Gibb carded a five-over par 77 to post the best score of the day for the Dolphins, who finished with a team total of 325.

"With the course playing as difficult as it was today, our score was pretty good," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "Danielle played a great round today and I look for us to build off of this tomorrow."

Alexandra Anderson opened with an eight-over par 80, with Heather Fudge and Therese Karlsson posting a 12-over par 84 each. Jessica Green shot an 87 with Jessica Williams carding a 93.

The Dolphins wrap up their spring season opener with the final round on Tuesday.
