JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Final Team & Player Results

Therese Karlsson shot an eight-over par 80 in the final round to tie for 14th as the JU women's golf team season came to a conclusion with a fifth place finish at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship.

Played on the par-72 Ridges Country Club, the Dolphins carded a 329 in the final round and just missed tying Stetson for fourth by two shots.

"We struggled on the back nine, but I'm pleased with how we competed this week," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "Therese played really well today, which really kept us afloat as we tried to chase down fourth place."

East Tennessee State made full use of its home-course advantage by winning the team title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals with a 25-shot win over Campbell. ETSU's Laura Jansone shot a 77 in the final round to win the individual title by one, rallying from a two-shot deficit entering the day.

Karlsson's 80 lead the Dolphins as all five players were in the 80s for the second time in the tournament.

Freshman Danielle Gibb also claimed a top 20 finish, taking home 19th after an 81 in the final round gave her a 245 total, just one shot back of Karlsson.
