Radka Dimitrova Tabbed A-Sun Volleyball Player of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) was named Atlantic Sun Volleyball Player of the Week after she recorded 41 kills and 20 digs in three matches and helped lead the Dolphins to four straight wins. JU has won six consecutive matches, improving to 7-10 and 2-0 in conference.

Dimitrova recorded a game-high 17 kills with six digs in JU's 3-1 victory over Campbell and had eight kills and two aces in a 3-0 victory over Gardner-Webb. She closed the week with 16 kills and 14 digs in a 3-1 win over Charlotte. Dimitrova now ranks in the top six in five conference statistical categories, including points (5.03 per game), kills (4.12 per game) and hitting percentage (.286).

This marks the third time that Dimitrova has received the A-Sun Volleyball Player of the Week award. She was named A-Sun Player of the Week in consecutive weeks last season, while earning First-Team Atlantic Sun All-Conference honors.

JU looks to extend its six-match winning streak against conference foe Belmont on Friday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Swisher Gymnasium.
