JU Downs Belmont, 3-0, to Remain Undefeated in the A-Sun

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Freshman outside hitter Eva Stoilova (Sofia, Bulgaria) led the Dolphins (8-10, 3-0 A-Sun) with 14 kills and 10 digs for the first double-double of her career, while senior outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) recorded 14 kills and five block-assists in JU's 3-0 (30-19, 30-22, 30-23) victory over Belmont University (0-15, 0-3 A-Sun), Friday night at Swisher Gymnasium. Sophomore middle blocker Danielle Neville (Greenwood Village, Colo.) added eight kills and five blocks-assists, while sophomore setter Erin Donivan (Sarasota, Fla.) had seven kills, 45 assists and five digs.

JU hit .351 for the match with nine team blocks and seven aces. The victory is the Dolphins seventh in a row and the third-straight win over a conference opponent.

JU set the pace in the first game with five aces and a hitting percentage of .414 to cruise to a 30-19 win. The match appeared in hand when Dimitrova, Donivan and Neville picked up four kills apiece in JU's 30-22 second game victory, but Belmont's Erin Janson served two aces to start the third frame, putting the Bruins on top 4-0. Dimitrova and Stoilova continued to pound the Belmont defense with seven and five kills respectively in the final frame, as the Dolphins rebounded and took the final game, 30-23.

JU hosts Lipscomb on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. to continue A-Sun play.
