Volleyball Wins Ninth-Straight in 3-0 Sweep Over Savannah State
Freshman outside hitter Eva Stoilova (Sofia, Bulgaria) fell three aces short of her third-consecutive double-double, recording 15 kills and seven aces as the Dolphins extended their winning-streak to nine matches with a 3-0 (30-25, 30-10, 30-19) sweep of Savannah State on Tuesday night in Tiger Arena. Freshman middle blocker Petya Borisova (Sofia, Bulgaria) also added 12 kills and digs as JU evened its record to 10-10 on the season, with a perfect 4-0 mark in Atlantic Sun Conference play.

JU struggled in the first game, but squeaked by with a 30-25 victory. From there it was smooth sailing as Stoilova continued her stellar play, backed by Borisova and sophomore middle hitter Lindsay Ward (Fernandina Beach, Fla.), who finished the match with 10 kills. The Dolphins have now taken 27-of-29 games, sweeping seven of nine matches and suffering their last loss nearly three weeks ago.

The Dolphins hope to continue their run when they host conference foes Troy State on Friday, Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
