Nov. 11, 2003

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In her final regular-season match, senior outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) did her best to leave Swisher on a winning note, recording 19 kills and 14 digs for the 39th double-double of her career, but the Dolphins fell short, 3-1 (21-30, 20-30, 32-30, 25-30), to Georgia Southern, in their regular season finale, Tuesday night in Swisher Gymnasium. Freshman outside hitter Eva Stoilova (Sofia, Bulgaria) also had an outstanding match, recording 16 kills and 14 digs for a double-double of her own.

In total, four Dolphins tallied double-digit kills and three recorded double-digit digs, but Georgia Southern's Martina Veiglova topped them all, notching a match-high 28 kills and 19 digs for the Eagles. Sophomore middle blocker Danielle Neville (Greenwood Village, Colo.) and junior outside hitter Candice Rose (Mechanicsville, Md.) added to the Dolphins' kill totals, recording 12 and 10 kills respectively. Junior libero Kelly Ryals (Gainesville, Fla.) finished the match with a team-high 17 digs.

Georgia Southern made it look easy in the first two games, winning 30-21 and 30-20, but Dimitrova and the Dolphins stormed back to take the third game in a 32-30 tiebreak. The fourth game was a back and forth affair, but Veiglova's near 30-kill performance proved the Dolphins undoing as the Eagles triumphed.

JU has earned the third seed in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, which begins Friday, Nov. 21 at the UCF Arena in Orlando, Fla.
