Jacksonville falls to #8 Florida, 3-0

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - - Jane Collymore led #8 Florida with 16 kills and 10 digs as the Jacksonville volleyball team fell to the Gators, 3-0, on Monday night.

Eva Stoilova led the Dolphins (0-4) with eight kills and 13 digs, the third time in four matches that she has recorded double figures in digs.

Game one was a battle from the start, with the Dolphins cutting the Gators lead to two, 16-14, on a kill by Stoilova. The Gators picked up the pace, going on a 14-5 run to take the game, 30-19.

Florida (1-0) took an early in game two and after a short JU run, the Gators closed out the game a 17-8 run to take a 2-0 lead, 30-17.

In game three, the Gators took an early 4-1 lead and never looked back. Despite a late run by the Dolphins, Florida sealed the match with a 30-20 win.

Marcie Hampton and Amber McCray both had 10 kills apiece for the Gators. Rachel Engel finished with a match-high 18 digs for Florida.

The Dolphins got five kills apiece from Petya Borisova and Lindsay Ward while getting 21 assists from Erin Donivan. Donivan also added 15 digs for the double-double.

Jacksonville returns to the court on Wednesday for the home opener against UCF. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
