NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Jacksonville volleyball team's bid for a second consecutive Atlantic Sun Tournament title fell short as they were defeated by Belmont, 3-0, Friday night in the conference semifinals in Nashville, Tenn.

"It was tough losing like that tonight," said JU head coach Kevin Paul. "It has been a tough two weeks, but I'm proud of the way we fought through it. Our team had another great season and I'm already looking forward to next year."

Junior Petya Borisova finished the match with a team-high 11 kills, while Junior Eva Stoilova added nine kills for the Dolphins (15-14). As a team, the Dolphins finished with a .113 hitting percentage.

With the match tied at 11-11 in game one, the Bruins (22-14) went on an 11-3 run to pull away from the Dolphins. The Dolphins cut the lead twice to three points in the final stages of game one, but the Bruins squashed the last rally.

The Bruins opened game two with a 10-2 lead and never looked back for the 30-22 win. Sara Jacobson lead the Bruins offensive attack with seven kills and four block assists. The Dolphins cut the lead to 23-19, but once again were unable to take the match.

In the game three, the Dolphins grabbed the initial lead, but the Bruins came roaring back with a 8-1 run to take a 19-11 lead that they would not relinquish.

Despite the loss, the Dolphins finished their four consecutive 15-win season and added their best conference record at 8-1.
