Six Dolphins earn preseason all-conference recognition
With training camp a week away, it’s time to purchase your preseason football preview magazines to get ready for the upcoming season.

Phil Steele’s preseason magazine has the most detailed coverage of Football Championship Subdivision schools and recognized six Dolphins on his all-Pioneer Football League team while picking JU to finish seventh in the nine-team league.

Senior offensive guard Chris Tessitore was the only Dolphin picked to the all-PFL first team. Tessitore has started every game for the Dolphins the past three years and will be called up on to anchor the front five again this season.

On the all-PFL second team, JU was well represented with five players earning recognition. Offensively, senior wide receiver Geavon Tribble and senior offensive tackle Michael Aguilar were selected along with sophomore running back Rudell Small.

Tribble enters his final season with a chance at setting the school record for most career receiving yards as he is already ranked third on the all-time list. Aguilar has started every game the past two seasons as well on the offensive front.

Small led the team in rushing a year ago despite being plagued by injuries over the final eight weeks of the season.

The two Dolphin defenders to earn preseason recognition were senior defensive back Robson Noel and junior lineback Allen Fennell. Noel led the team in tackles last year with more than 80 while Fennell has been a mainstay at middle linebacker over the past two seasons.
