JU rained out on Wednesday
The rain continued to wreak havoc on the JU football practice schedule, raining out a two-a-day practice on Wednesday.

To offset the lost time on the field, the Dolphins had two two-hour practices in the Davis College of Business with a walk-through practice.

“We did a lot of work on responsibilities and mentally focusing on what we need to do on each play in scenarios,” said JU head coach Kerwin Bell. “While missing a day on the field hurts, it was good for our young guys to get them caught up with the veterans.”

While there wasn’t any contact, the Dolphins were able to accomplish more than they had hoped during a rain day.

“I’m pleased with how the guys came ready to learn in a classroom for football,” Bell said. “I’m looking forward to seeing how they take that knowledge onto the field tomorrow when we have two practices.”

FAN DAY SET FOR SATURDAY: The JU football team will take its show on the road this week as the Dolphins will scrimmage on Saturday afternoon at Plantation Park in the Julington Creek area. The Dolphins’ “Fan Day” is built around the scrimmage, which will kick off at 1 p.m. Fans will be able to get T-shirts, purchase season tickets and food during the scrimmage with a chance to get autographs from the players afterwards.
