Women’s golf rained out on Tuesday, finish seventh at Troy Invitational
The JU women’s golf team saw the third round of the Troy Invitational rained out, shortening the event to 36 holes, with the Dolphins finishing seventh.

Louisiana-Monroe won the 10-team event at 31-over par, topping host Troy by two shots. Troy’s Haley Lawrence won the individual title with a 36-hole total of one-over par, 145.

Meghan Hughes picked up her second top 20 finish of the season and her first top 10 with a tie for 10th at nine-over par after rounds of 78 and 75.

“We were disappointed to not get to play today and put that second round behind us,” said JU head coach Mike Blackburn. “We’ve got a big tournament coming up at Pinehurst next week to wrap up the fall schedule and I think we’re on the verge of seeing some really good scores from this group.”

The Dolphins will wrap up their fall schedule starting on Monday at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate, played on the No. 6 course at the legendary resort.
