Women's lacrosse opens conference account against Detroit Mercy
The Dolphins will look to come away from Clinton, S.C. with their first win both in the program and the National Lacrosse Conference when they face Detroit-Mercy on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The JU women’s lacrosse team heads into tomorrow’s game after a hard fought loss to Florida in its program opener, 16-6.

“We’re really excited to get into conference play,” said head coach Mindy McCord. “We’ve had a tough few opening weeks and getting into the NLC schedule will be great for the team. We had a great week of practice and the girls are ready to get going.”

Freshman midfielder Amanda Hurley turned in a great performance against Florida in her first start of the season.

The Columbus, Ga. native jumped into the starting role, scoring twice on three shots and added an assist. Hurley also won three draw controls during the game.

The Titans (1-1) come into this weekend’s matchup after falling to Davidson, 15-12, in the NLC’s opening game. For the first win of the season, the Titans downed St. Francis, 16-5.

The draw is set for 11 a.m. in Clinton, S.C. on Presbyterian’s campus.
