Women’s lacrosse to host Howard in final home game of the season
The JU women’s lacrosse team will host National Lacrosse Conference foe Howard tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the Ashley Sports Complex in its final home game of the season.

The Dolphins (4-6, 2-0 NLC) will look to stay atop the NLC standings with a win over the Lady Bison (1-8, 0-3) on Youth Day in Jacksonville.

“We’ve been hitting our stride at the perfect time,” said JU head coach Mindy McCord. “Conference play is our top priority and we’re pushing for a championship.”

In the last game out for JU, the Dolphins (4-6, 2-0 NLC) outscored Liberty, 16-1, in the first half, leading to a 19-2 victory.

Freshman Emily Pepe turned in an outstanding performance for JU, tallying six points (3,3) while Jocelyn Jameson added a hat trick of her own. Goalie’s Hannah Collins and Karli Tobin split time in goal, each conceding a goal, making two saves.

Howard had a solid first half in its last game but couldn't hold on and fell, 20-8, to Central Connecticut State Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Bison started strong but allowed big CCSU runs in each half.

At tomorrow afternoon’s game, all youth players, 13-and-under, wearing any apparel from their youth lacrosse team will receive free admission. After the game, the youth players will have the opportunity to play catch with members of the team.
