The alumni are the foundation to which this program was built and everything that we accomplish in the future is an addition to the success that they have achieved before us.”
Hamilton got the no-decision for the Alumni despite allowing only one run on two hits in three innings of work. Cichra also added two innings of shutout relief for the Alumni.
Junior RHP Matt Loosen also ended the contest with a no-decision despite hurling two shutout innings. Senior RHP Glenn Witkowski, sophomore RHP Baker Chapman and RHP Chris Kaminski each added a scoreless inning of relief.
The current Dolphins got off to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when sophomore Kevin Lehane laced an RBI single to center to score senior Alex Martinez.
The Alumni rallied for two runs in the top of the fourth when Oliva hit a solo home run to right center field and Aldrich pulled an RBI single down the third base line to score pinch runner Ferreira. The Dolphins rallied for a run in the bottom of the sixth when Lehane notched his second RBI base hit of the contest, this time with two outs.
