Men’s lacrosse hoping to rebound against Mt. St. Mary’s tomorrow
The JU men’s lacrosse team will hope to take out its frustrations from Saturday at VMI against Mt. St. Mary’s tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Ashley Sports Complex on A-Sun.TV.

The Dolphins (1-3) conceded four goals in the first eight minutes of the VMI game before trading goals for a majority of the second and third quarters. Late in the third, JU scored three unanswered goals to bring the game to within one but the tying goal was never put away.

“We knew this season was going to have a lot of peaks and valleys,” said JU head coach Matt Kerwick. “For a young team to have a long trip home after a loss is tough so it’s great to have another game right away. The guys can’t wait to get back out there and show how ready they are.”

Freshman midfielder Cameron Mann submitted an excellent performance for JU against the Keydets, scoring four goals and picking up eight ground balls. Freshman Ryan Serville, who entered the game leading the country in points, added two more in the form of two assists to Mann and freshman T.J. Kenary.

The Mountaineers (0-1) come into tomorrow’s game after a loss to No. 2 Virginia, 15-7, last Tuesday.

Mount St. Mary's sophomore Cody Lehrer led the way with four goals and an assist to pace the Mountaineer attack against the Cavaliers. Fellow sophomore Bryant Schmidt added a goal and an assist in his first collegiate game while sophomore Eric Ososki and freshman Andrew Scalley added scores as well. Junior goalkeeper T.C. DiBartolo was solid in the cage, making 16 saves in the game.

The Dolphins faceoff after the women’s lacrosse team has completed its game against Boston College.
