Men's lacrosse heads north to face No. 18 Bucknell
After a dominant performance against Sacred Heart, the JU men’s lacrosse team is back on the road for the second time this year when the Dolphins face No. 18 Bucknell tomorrow in Winston-Salem, N.C. at 7 p.m.
The Dolphins (4-3) moved above .500 for the first time in program history with a 17-7 victory over the Pioneers.
“This will be a tough challenge for our young team, taking on another top-20 team,” said JU head coach Matt Kerwick. “We’re going to give our best effort against a strong Bucknell squad.”
Last week, freshman Ryan Serville, second in the nation in points, helped his cause with four goals and three assists while sophomore Jeremy Tissenbaum and freshman Nick Scalzo each added three goals and an assist against Sacred Heart. Senior goalie Brad Hester recorded his fourth win of the season with seven saves in 53 minutes.
Bucknell (3-2) comes into tomorrow’s game off a 9-7 victory over Hobart. Charlie Streep scored four goals in his first game as an attackman and Austin Winter registered a goal and three assists in the victory.
