JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A pair of JU freshmen - pitcher Jackie Samuels and second baseman Katie Kelly, were named to the Seminole Classic All-Tournament team after their performances over the weekend in Tallahassee.

Samuels was the starting pitcher for all four JU games, picking up wins against Bethune-Cookman and Florida State. Samuels pitched 4.1 innings of scoreless ball against the Wildcats and allowed only one run in 4.2 innings against the Seminoles.

"As a freshman to come out against that high caliber team is very impressive," said JU head coach Amanda Lehotak. "Jackie deserves the success she receives for all her hard work."

Kelly delivered five RBI in the Dolphins' final three games, including a bases clearing double against Michigan State.

"For her to step up as big as she did this weekend was huge for her and the team's confidence," Lehotak said. "Katie is a great hitter and an important part of our lineup and it was great to see her produce the way she did."

The Dolphins will be back in action on Tuesday as they take on Florida State in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. at the JU Softball Complex.
