Women's tennis takes out Hofstra, 6-1

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU women's tennis team jumped back on track over the weekend with a 6-1 win over Hofstra.
The Dolphins (3-2) swept the three doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches.
"Everyone played well and we're starting to come together as a team," said JU head coach Shane Wood. "I was excited about how we finished and took care of business."
The match opened with JU sweeping the three doubles matches. Tatiana Soldatova and Iva Jaresova won the No. 1 match, 8-7, with Lena Willi and Fernanda Carrero running away with the No. 2 match, 8-0. Juliana Umeki and Lina Xu finished off the sweep with an 8-3 win in the No. 3 match.
In singles play, Xu won the No. 1 match, 6-1, 6-0. Willi, in her second match at the No. 2 match this season, won 6-0, 6-1.
In the No. 3 match, Soldatova won in three sets, 6-0, 1-6, 10-5. Carrero won the No. 5 match, 6-2, 7-5 and Juliana Umeki won the No. 6 match, 6-1, 6-0.
Jaresova had the lone blemish for the Dolphins, dropping the No. 4 match, 6-0, 6-2.
The Dolphins return to the court on Feb. 23 against UCF. First serve is set for Noon.
