JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU women's tennis team fell 5-2 to UCF on Saturday at the Keith Watson Tennis Complex.

The Dolphins (3-3) claimed two of the six singles matches and dropped the doubles point.

"UCF has a good team and this was a good test to see where we are," said JU head coach Shane Wood. "While we're disappointed with the result, I hope that we learned from this as we head into conference play."

In singles play, Lina Xu won her second consecutive No. 1 matchup, 3-6, 6-4, 10-2. Juliana Umeki won the No. 6 match 6-2, 6-4. Both Xu and Umeki have only lost once this season, when they were defeated by nationally ranked Florida State on Feb. 11.

Xu and Umeki teamed up to gain the Dolphins' only doubles win in the No. 3 matchup, winning (9-8) in five sets.

The Dolphins will return to the courts on Feb. 29, as they begin their Atlantic Sun schedule against Belmont.
