Women’s golf tees off in the Eagle Landing Invitational
The JU women’s golf team return to the links after a two week layoff as they tee off in the Eagle Landing Invitational.
Jacksonville is looking to build off of its final round at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate, finishing 21st in the 33-team field, including wins over Wofford, Iowa and Richmond.
One of the Dolphins looking forward to the event is senior Jessica Williams. A year ago, Williams burst onto the scene with a career-best even-par 72 in the first round en route to a tie for 24th – the best finish for the Dolphins.
Williams is just one part of the quartet of seniors that JU will run out in the event, joined by Kristen Boettcher, Melissa Magdor and Meghan Hughes.
Junior Morgan Jackson rounds out the lineup for JU. Jackson enters the event as the team leader in stroke average at 77.53.
The event, hosted by James Madison, is the second of three local events that the Dolphins will participate in this spring.
