Women’s lacrosse team to host free skills clinic in Maryland on Sunday
The JU women’s lacrosse team will be participating in a free skills clinic this Sunday from 12-2 p.m. at Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md. The clinic, for players aged 11-to-18, will be open to the first 200 to arrive.

JU participated in a similar free skills clinic last month when the Dolphins and Louisville Cardinals each took part in a postgame event following the neutral-site game at West Forsyth High School in Cumming, Ga.

“After the high turnout we had in Georgia, we’re looking forward to having another opportunity to instruct young players and help grow the game,” JU head coach Mindy McCord said.

Registrations can be made in advance by calling Bev Altig at 410-544-6557 or by email at

The clinic will mark a homecoming for many Dolphins. Ten players on the JU roster are Maryland natives. Freshman attacker Ally Dell is among that group, growing up in nearby Severna Park, Md.

JU (9-4, 4-0 NLC) will play at Detroit on Friday before arriving in the Washington, D.C. area to face Howard on Saturday.
