Women’s lacrosse defender and SAAC President Jessica Hotchkiss throws out first pitch
Jessica Hotchkiss traded in her stick and goggles for a glove and a baseball on Wednesday. The first-unit defender for the JU women’s lacrosse team threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Dolphins and USF Bulls squared off in a non-conference game at John Sessions Stadium.
Hotchkiss, who serves as the president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, threw out the first pitch to commemorate national student-athlete day. Her throw from the rubber was caught by JU catcher Patrick Long.
Hotchkiss will return to the more familiar setting of a lacrosse field on Friday when the Dolphins (9-4, 4-0 NLC) travel to Detroit to face the Titans in a conference matchup at 2 p.m. local time.
