Women’s tennis stays undefeated with win over S.C. State
Doubles play proved to be the difference as the JU women’s tennis team outlasted South Carolina State, 4-3, to stay undefeated on Saturday afternoon at the Keith Watson Family Tennis Complex.

Coming off two straight 7-0 sweeps, the Dolphins won three singles matches and took two out of three doubles matches to swing the overall match in its favor. JU moved to 5-0 after finishing it closest match of the 2011 campaign.

Eve Castaing, Gabriela Bartos and Flavia Nagayama all recorded wins in the top-three singles matchups. Bartos and Nagayama both moved to 5-0 in individual singles play this season.

Casting and Bartos also teamed to win the first doubles matchup, 8-6. Natalia Melibeu and Nagayama paired to lift the Dolphins to a win in the second doubles match, proving to be the difference against a South Carolina State squad that beat Elon earlier this year.

JU will try and continue its winning streak on Sunday, Feb. 27, at home against Western Carolina with matches starting at noon.
