Gulbransen & Walker named to Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team
The honors keep coming in for freshmen Dan Gulbransen and Adam Brett Walker as the JU baseball duo were named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team as voted by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on Wednesday.

Gulbransen and Walker are the first Dolphins to earn the freshman All-America honors since Gordie Gronkowski received a spot in 2003.

“I was happy to see Dan and Adam receive the honor,” said JU head coach Terry Alexander. “We knew that they could both do big things here at JU and it’s nice to see that starting to come true. We hope for a few more seasons like this from those two.”

Gulbransen was named Atlantic Sun Conference “Freshman of the Year”, while also earning first team all-conference and all-freshman honors after leading the Dolphins with a .391 average and 53 runs. He also led the team in triples, on-base percentage (.498), walks (39) and multi-hit games (26). Gulbransen also finished third with eight home runs and fourth with 46 RBI.

In the conference rankings, he finished seventh in batting average, while taking fourth in on-base percentage.

Walker led the squad with 16 home runs, 58 RBI, a .635 slugging percentage, 122 total bases and 17 multi-RBI games en route to second team all-conference and all-freshman accolades. In the conference rankings, he finished sixth in home runs and ninth in slugging percentage. Walker’s home run total also tied him for third on the JU single season list.
