Gulbransen and Walker named Second Team All-America by Ping!Baseball
The offseason honors continue for freshmen Dan Gulbransen and Adam Brett Walker as the JU baseball duo were named Second Team Freshman All-America by Ping!Baseball.com.

The Wisconsin duo become the first Dolphins to earn Ping!Baseball freshman honors since Chuck Opachich in 2007.

Gulbransen and Walker also became the first Dolphins to earn Collegiate Baseball All-America honors since Gordie Gronkowski received a spot in 2003.

“I'm not surprised to see these honors continue,” said JU head coach Terry Alexander. “This duo is a foundation for our program and I expect even more big things in the future.”

Gulbransen was named Atlantic Sun Conference “Freshman of the Year”, while also earning first team all-conference and all-freshman honors after leading the Dolphins with a .391 average and 53 runs. He also led the team in triples, on-base percentage (.498), walks (39) and multi-hit games (26). Gulbransen also finished third with eight home runs and fourth with 46 RBI.

In the conference rankings, he finished seventh in batting average, while taking fourth in on-base percentage.

Walker led the squad with 16 home runs, 58 RBI, a .635 slugging percentage, 122 total bases and 17 multi-RBI games en route to second team all-conference and all-freshman accolades. In the conference rankings, he finished sixth in home runs and ninth in slugging percentage. Walker’s home run total also tied him for third on the JU single season list.
