This Week in JU Athletics (Sept. 13-19)
The JU football team hosting its first Saturday night home contest is one of the many highlights in store for the Dolphins in the coming week. Take a look to see what else is in store.

This Week in JU Athletics is a weekly feature to give fans the top five items of the week and a full list of all the athletic events so they can cheer the Dolphins on to victory.

Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" - Kathryn Kane: Junior Kathryn Kane earns Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" honors by helping the JU volleyball team finish well at the Courtyard by Marriott/UCF Classic. Kane recorded 25 kills and 2.27 kills per set , while also adding a double-double, a .217 hitting percentage, 20 digs and five blocks to earn all-tournament accolades.
Football hosts first Saturday night home game -The JU football team will host the 2010 home opener in style with the program’s first Saturday night contest against Webber International. The game will be played at Bolles High School in Jacksonville due to the renovations at D.B. Mile not being quite ready to unveil. JU is 2-0 in the two previous games (2005, 2008) played on Bolles’ field at Skinner-Barco Stadium.
Women’s cross country return to race on Saturday -The JU women’s cross country team will be back in action on Saturday morning at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. This will be the first race all season that the Dolphins run their full squad. The Dolphins competed in the JU Short Course Duals less than two weeks ago, but only ran a portion of the squad.
Women’s soccer opens A-Sun play - After two strong performances last week, the Dolphins will dive into A-Sun play starting on Friday. They will host FGCU in the second part of a doubleheader with the men’s team at 7 p.m. and finish the week on Sunday at home against Stetson at 2 p.m. The Dolphins are looking build off their tie against USF and 3-0 victory against Francis Marion from the weekend.

Men’s soccer plays in-state - The JU men’s soccer team will look to build of its home record starting Friday when the Dolphins host FIU at 5 p.m. The Dolphins will finish the week on Sunday against Manhattan College in DeLand, Fla. at noon. JU enters the week after knocking off Georgia Southern and UNC Greenboro, while tying Elon in a busy slate last week.
