This Week in JU Athletics (Oct. 11-17)
JU football player Josh McGregor was tabbed as the Community First Credit Union “Athlete of the Week” to kick off another edition of This Week in JU Athletics.

This Week in JU Athletics is a weekly feature to give fans the top five items of the week and a full list of all the athletic events so they can cheer the Dolphins on to victory.


Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" - Josh McGregor:Junior Josh McGregor earned Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" honors after using his arm and legs to lead the JU football team past Drake on Oct. 9. The Dolphins signal-caller completed 21-of-35 for 320 yards with one touchdown. He also scored on a 39-yard run, the longest of his career.
Football heads back on the road - The Dolphins will head out of town for the first time in three weeks to play at Valparaiso on Saturday at 1 p.m. JU will look to stay perfect in PFL play after consecutive home wins against San Diego and Drake.
Sizzling women’s soccer hosts Campbell - The red hot women’s soccer team will be back at the Ashley Sports Complex on Thursday to host Campbell at 7 p.m. JU earned a spot in the A-Sun Tournament with the victory at Lipscomb on Oct. 10. The Dolphins have only lost one in their last 11 matches as they enter the week.
Cross Country laces it up again - Both JU cross country teams return to the race trail this week in two different meets. The men’s team and a portion of the women’s squad will run in the Sodexho Stetson Invitational on Friday in DeLand, Fla. The other half of the women’s team will race on Saturday in Terra Haute, Ind. – the site of the NCAA Cross Country Championships.

Rowing and women’s tennis in action - There is also a chance to see more spring teams in action this week. The women’s tennis team will swing their rackets on Friday in the North Florida Invitational on the UNF campus, while the men’s and women’s rowing squads compete in the First Coast Head Race on Saturday at the Negaard Rowing Center on campus.
