This Week In JU Athletics (Oct. 18- 24)
JU men’s soccer player Daniele Campailla was tabbed as the Community First Credit Union “Athlete of the Week” to kick off another edition of This Week in JU Athletics.

This Week in JU Athletics is a weekly feature to give fans the top five items of the week and a full list of all the athletic events so they can cheer the Dolphins on to victory.


Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" - Daniele Campailla:Junior Daniele Campailla earned Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" honors after scoring twice to lead the JU men’s soccer team past USC Upstate, 4-0, on Oct. 18. Campailla scored his first goal in the 34th minute and added his second score in the second half to put the match out of reach.
Football hosts Marist for homecoming - The high-scoring Dolphins will return home to try to stay perfect in PFL play when they host Marist on Saturday for homecoming at noon. JU will see if it has any offensive scoring left in the tank after the Dolphins 86-7 win at Valparaiso on Oct. 16.
Women’s soccer & Volleyball rumbles with UNF - The JU women’s soccer and volleyball squads each had key dates with cross-town rival UNF for the SunTrust River City Rumble. The volley team hosts the Ospreys on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Swisher Gymnasium. The women’s soccer travels across the city to play at Hodges Stadium against the Ospreys on Friday at 7 p.m.
Men’s soccer closes out the home schedule - Fans will have one more chance to see the Dolphins at the Ashley Sports Complex this week. The Dolphins begin the week against Campbell on Thursday at 7 p.m. before hosting Mercer on Saturday at 7 p.m. as well.

Rowing, men’s golf and men’s tennis in action -. The men’s golf team will spend the next two days at Mizuno Invitational in Savannah, Ga. The men’s tennis team will swing their rackets on Friday at the ITA Southeastern Regional in Gainesville, Fla, while the men’s and women’s rowing squads compete in the First Coast Head Race on Saturday at the Negaard Rowing Center on campus.
