JU cracks the top 25 in coaches poll, moves up in the media ranking
Having racked up 242 points in the last four games, the JU football team reached another historical milestone on Monday by being ranked in both major Football Championship Subdivision polls for the first time.

The Dolphins (8-1, 6-0 PFL), who cracked the top 25 in the Network last week, moved up to No. 23 this week. Jacksonville makes its initial entry in the FCS Coaches Poll this week at No. 25.

It is the first time a team from the Pioneer Football League has been ranked in both polls since San Diego in 2007.

"We're very appreciative of the national recognition," said JU head coach Kerwin Bell. "But we also know that doesn't mean anything when you step onto the field. We've got to keep our focus on getting better each day in practice."

JU has won a school-record tying seven in a row and will look for its eighth straight win on Saturday as they travel to face defending PFL champion Butler on Saturday at 1 p.m. (EST).
