Women’s rowing opens fall season at Head of the Hooch
After a long fall training schedule, the JU women’s rowing team will get its first test on the water as the Dolphins compete in the Head of the Hooch Regatta, Saturday on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tenn.
JU, who did not compete in the First Coast Head Race due to lack of competition, will have four boats competing as the squad lines up against someone other than themselves for the first time in the fall.
The Women’s Championship 8 with coxswain Jamie Goldstein, Allison Sobiech, Danielle Fournier, Emily Close, Jill Carmody, Mary Mosier, Whitney Mathews, Morgan McTiernan and Candace Barber will go at 12:15 p.m.
The Women’s Championship 4 “A” with coxswain Jamie Goldstein, Emily Close, Danielle Fournier, Mary Mosier and Jill Carmody, the Women’s Championship 4 “B” consisting of coxswain Carolyn Barquist, Allison Sobiech, Whitney Mathews, Morgan McTiernan and Candace Barber and the Women’s Championship 4 “C” with coxswain Savannah Rice, Cassie MacLellan, Abby Siergik, Romi Delfino and Adrienne Santos will all compete at 5:05 p.m.
