Dolphins make another leap in FCS polls
Nine straight wins and a Pioneer Football League championship have moved the JU football team up in the two major Football Championship Subdivision polls this week.

Jacksonville moved up to No. 20 in the Network top 25 poll which is voted upon by members of the media that cover the FCS, up from 22nd. The Dolphins jumped up to No. 21 in the FCS Coaches Poll, after being ranked 24th last week.

The Dolphins finished their regular season with a 10-1 record and their second Pioneer Football League title in the last three seasons, winning their final nine games.

“The voters understand how hard it is to win a championship and us moving up in the polls is a reflection of what we have accomplished so far this season,” said JU head coach Kerwin Bell. “We’ve done all we can do at this point. All we can do is hope that we’ve done enough to impress the committee that we’re deserving of a spot in the postseason.”

Jacksonville will use the bye week to get some injuries healed up in hopes of an at-large bid to the FCS Playoffs, with the field being announced on ESPNU at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
