Natalie Schmett signs with women’s golf for 2011-12
Indiana state champion Natalie Schmett has signed with the JU women’s golf team for the 2011-12 season.

A star at North High School in Evansville, Ind., Schmett won the Indiana High School state championship by five shots at three-under par in October – setting a tournament record for lowest 36-hole score.

She finished her senior season at 14-under par for the year, earning all-city, all-conference, all-sectional, all-regional and all-state honors. In her final high school season, she racked up a 667-2 record individually.

“We’re excited to have a student-athlete as talented as Natalie join our program,” said JU head coach Mike Blackburn. “She’s an extremely bright young lady that has a tremendous amount of talent and passion for golf.”

Her high school career is nothing short of legendary.

She is a two-time conference champion, three-time Evansville champion, four-time sectional champion, three-time regional champion and a four-time state finalist. She was picked all-city, all-conference, all-sectional, all-regional and all-state all four years of her career.
