Dowell and Fink receive 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru “All-Southeast” honors
Senior defender Devon Dowell and redshirt-junior Liz Fink have both received 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru “All-Southeast” honors for their efforts on the JU women’s soccer team during the 2010 season. Dowell finds herself on the second team while Fink has earned a third-team spot as the only representatives from the A-Sun.

The Dolphins saw their season come to a close in the A-Sun Championship final with a 1-0 loss to Mercer. The tournament host, JU finished its regular season just one point shy of first place behind Florida Gulf Coast.

“We’re extremely proud of Devon and Liz for this recognition,” said JU head coach Brian Copham. “It’s a great way for Devon to cap off an outstanding career and hopefully will encourage Liz to continue to play at such a high level during her senior season.”

In her final season, Dowell scored two goals and notched an assist while leading the JU defense to seven shutouts in conference, 10 overall. She was also one of four players on the team to start every match this season.

Fink became a dominant presence at defensive midfield this season, scoring seven goals and seven assists, including two game winners. In conference play, she was tied for first in assists (5) and fifth in goals (4). Fink recorded a season-high four points against USC Upstate.
